Khamenei: Trump Lied, America Should Leave the Region

They Backed Massacres, Not Peace

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei accused US President Donald Trump of lying about using his country's influence to bring peace to war-torn Gaza. "Trump claimed he wanted to use force to achieve peace, but he lied," Khamenei said in a televised speech reported by Agence France-Presse.

He added, "He, along with American officials and successive American administrations, have used their power to support the massacres in Gaza, ignite war wherever they can, and provide support to their mercenaries."

Khamenei said, "America must leave this region, and it will leave," criticizing what he described as the failed American model that aims to maintain the Gulf states' need for and dependence on American support.
