Macron: Russia "Does Not Want a Ceasefire"
"More Pressure" Needed
French President Emmanuel Macron stated today that Russia "does not want" to reach a ceasefire in Ukraine, stressing the need to apply "more pressure" to push it toward that outcome.
Speaking at the opening of the European Political Community summit in Tirana, Macron said, "The past few hours have shown that Russia does not want a ceasefire. If Europeans and Americans do not apply more pressure to achieve this, it will not happen automatically," referring to the possibility of imposing new sanctions, according to AFP.
