French embassy praises Lebanon’s 2025 vote as democratic milestone
Respecting constitutional deadlines
In a post on its official X account, the French Embassy in Beirut on Monday praised Lebanon’s 2025 municipal elections as a milestone in restoring democratic life. “The government’s determination to organize these long-overdue elections, originally scheduled for 2022, along with voters’ participation as an expression of civic commitment, brings Lebanon back on the path of democratic life,” the Embassy stated. It added that the smooth conduct of the vote “enshrines the principle of respecting constitutional deadlines.”
