Hezbollah's Qassem to the people of south: Intensify your participation

To secure 'resounding' win in polls

Letter from Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem to the people of south Lebanon on the municipal and local elections:

"You have given more than your share of sacrifice and shown the world what legendary resistance looks like. For decades, you’ve stood firm against “Israeli” aggression—most recently, in your unwavering support for Gaza during the Al-Aqsa Flood and the Uli Al-Ba’as Battle. Time and again, you have proven yourselves to be people of dignity, sovereignty, and liberation.

You rebuilt the south after the 2000 liberation, and again after the 2006 war. And today, once more, you’ve led the way—returning to your land before the state and its institutions. You’ve faced danger head-on, stood your ground, and reclaimed your homes with courage, determination, and faith in God.

This year’s municipal and local elections come as yet another test—of resilience, firm stance, and commitment to the land. They are an opportunity to rebuild with your own hands: restoring your villages, your orchards, your homes, and everything that brings life back to your communities. And make no mistake—those aligned with “Israeli” interests are watching the outcome closely.

But we are not addressing you simply to win in the elections—you already have, by God’s will. With your unity, your support for Hezbollah and the Amal Movement, and your backing of the Development and Loyalty electoral lists, your victory is assured. Supporting the resistance means being part of it. You are the resistance.

What we ask of you now is to show up in force. Let your turn out at the ballot box send a powerful, unmistakable message.

We will never give up a single grain of soil from our generous south. We will not accept the continued occupation of even one inch of our land.

Your strong participation in these elections is part of the greater mission of reconstruction—one that we will pursue hand-in-hand with the newly elected municipal councils and with a Lebanese state that must fulfill its responsibilities.

Reclaiming and rebuilding the south—and all that was destroyed across Lebanon—is part of our commitment to the martyrs, especially the Sayyed of the Nation’s Martyrs, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and to the wounded and those still imprisoned, whom we will not abandon.
