Flydubai Set to Resume Direct Flights to Damascus After 12-year Hiatus
Starting from June
Flydubai, the UAE-based airline, announced Thursday the resumption of its direct flights to Damascus, starting from June.
The UAE’s WAM news agency quoted Flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith as saying, “We are pleased to be the first UAE airline to resume flights to Syria after a suspension of more than 12 years,” highlighting Damascus’ cultural and historical significance in the region.
The decision follows an announcement by the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority in April regarding the resumption of air travel between the two countries.
