These reasons prevent the progress of Frangieh's chances

Knowledgeable political sources believe that Iran will be among the winners, because it contributed to preventing the war in other arenas, and kept Hezbollah's battles in the south within its acceptable limits.
Based on this, Iran, according to the same sources, will pay a price in Lebanon regarding the election of former minister Sleiman Frangieh as president of the Republic.
However, an informed parliamentary source doubts the possibility of achieving this election, saying: it is true that the president of Lebanon can only be elected from international consensus or deals, but there is also a role for local leaders that cannot be bypassed.
In this context, the source explains that Hezbollah has not yet given any position related to the file of the army command, whether in terms of the extension of General Joseph Aoun or the appointment of a new army commander, or to proceed with the proposal most in favor of the FPM, represented by the transfer of leadership to the highest-ranking officer, and therefore delaying the decision is subject to several considerations, most notably that the FPM, represented by MP Gebran Bassil, will be "offended" by Hezbollah if the latter approves Aoun's extension, then the response will be more and more strict by refusing to elect Frangieh.
The source continues: If the FPM facilitates the election of Frangieh, will that be in exchange for receiving "big rewards" in the next era? Another question: does Frangieh accept that his Term begins by giving up all the tools of government and the main Maronite positions?
As for the external level, the source believes that along with Iran, there are also other countries among the winners, most notably those participating in the five-nation group, namely Saudi Arabia, Qatar, France, the United States and Egypt… And this is what prevents the progress of Frangieh's chances.
