Salam condemns repeated attacks on UNIFIL

Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, on Tuesday strongly condemned the repeated attacks on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), describing them as a serious threat to the security and stability of southern Lebanon and its residents. He emphasized that such actions undermine the national interest.

Prime Minister Salam reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to renewing the UNIFIL mandate to ensure continued implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which is crucial for maintaining peace and stability along the southern border.

Salam also called on the relevant authorities to take immediate action to stop the perpetrators targeting the international peacekeeping forces and to refer them to the competent judiciary for prosecution.
