All Lebanon files are postponed
Everything in Lebanon suggests that the files, including the presidential entitlement, are postponed until after the US presidential elections, the country has entered the waiting circle.
Prominent parliamentary sources, via the "Akhbar al-Yawm" agency, believe that all the initiatives put forward will not reach a result, especially after the deputies of the opposition forces concluded their parliamentary meetings without achieving any result.
These sources stressed that the dialogue and the initiative of Speaker of the House of Representatives Nabih Berri will remain the basis for any political action and that in the end all parties will sit down at the table.
According to the sources, president Nabih Berri will lead the dialogue to agree on several issues, including the presidential entitlement, in addition to the formation of a new effective government that will work on developing and implementing the required financial and economic reforms.
In this context, the sources indicate that the parliamentary committees are doing their work to the fullest and studying and approving a number of law proposals in preparation for holding a legislative session in the next stage, and therefore the legislative work continues in these difficult circumstances, and there are a number of prominent proposals that are being discussed, studied and completed, everyone agreed not to disrupt the legislative work, including the deputies of the opposition forces. Therefore, the sources believe that everyone will reach the dialogue that is necessary, especially since the majority of the parliamentary blocs confirmed this matter and will headed by President Berri.
In the face of this stalemate and obstruction, is there any direction to extend this council in case the presidential entitlement is delayed? The sources answer that it is absolutely necessary to elect a president of the republic, form an effective government, develop a new law for parliamentary elections, launch a "New Lebanon" and return the work of institutions and their regularity.
