The line of buoys, a new term has entered the demarcation file of the southern maritime border, with the recent visit of the American mediator between Lebanon and Israel Amos Hochstein, who handed over the coordinates of this line to Lebanese officials.

Steakholders, including Hochstein, have spoken of positives or progress, but the repositioning of the buoy line on the negotiating table hides negatives and bad intentions.

A  well informed source told "Akhbar Al Yawm" that the line of buoys is 7 km long from Ras Al Naqoura West, while the length of the maritime border is 130 km, i.e. say that it does not exceed 10% of the border area. This demarcation line was established in 2000 with the Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon, in order to prevent fishermen from crossing the border, and therefore has nothing to do with the gas and oil dossier, because the Lebanese blocs are 3 miles from shore and don't touch it.

In response to a question, the source warned that recognizing the line of buoys and installing it is very dangerous because it coincides with the Israeli number one line, that is, not with the 23rd or 29th line. Thus, the target of the proposal is the land and not the sea, explaining that the line of buoys decreases about 2 square kilometers from the Lebanese border according to line 23, this may be a negligible area on 860 km2, but the question n is not there.

It said: if the coordinates of the buoys are recognized today, and after some time we started looking for the demarcation of the land border, the Israeli will argue that Lebanon recognized the line of buoys, then he will request the extension of a land line from the last buoy, this line does not meet the Ras Al Naqoura point, but on its northern side, the Naqoura tunnel has become the property of the Israelis and inside their borders, warning that the line of buoys gives the opposite result, stressing that in such an action, Israel will stick to the strategic and tourist tunnel of Naqura and the security par excellence.

Based on the above, the source said: in order for Lebanon not to be negative, it should seek to reveal Israel's intentions by highlighting the line of buoys demanding to connect the last point of buoys to the real Ras Al Naqoura, which is determined by Lebanon, knowing that the last buoy is about 200 meters from land. Provided that this connection is recognized on the signed papers by confirming that the first point is Naqoura's head and the second point is the first float..

If the end of the negotiations will lead to the sharing of oil and gas or the final demarcation of the border, the source explained that the border is a recognition of a demarcation line between two neighboring countries, friends or enemies, and when it is deposited with the United Nations, it becomes the official border for Lebanon, the borders of the oil blocks are the same as the maritime border at line 23, which Lebanon reported to the United Nations in 2011, and on this basis the blocks 8, 9, 10 have been drawn. Thus, the adoption of line 23 is a line of maritime borders and the line of borders of the oil blocks, and there remains the Cana field, which bypasses block 9 and line 23, and therefore the search is for Lebanon which obtains oil and gas from the entire field of Cana.
