Video: Fire on Plane with Lebanese Passengers in Baghdad
All passengers are safe
In wake of circulating news on social media about a fire breaking out on a plane carrying Lebanese passengers from Baghdad International Airport to Lebanon, with firefighters working to extinguish the blaze, the Director General of Civil Aviation, Engineer Amin Jaber, who reassured that all passengers are safe.
He explained that an Iraqi plane caught fire while parked at the gate. Firefighters quickly intervened and contained the blaze. The Lebanese passengers were transferred to another plane, which will arrive at Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut today.
The Civil Aviation Director General stated that he contacted the relevant authorities at Baghdad Airport, who reassured him of the passengers' safety and wellbeing.
