Hajjar inspects election readiness in Mount Lebanon

Interior and Municipalities Minister, Brigadier General Ahmad Hajjar, on Tuesday conducted a field visit to Mount Lebanon Governorate, where he was received by Governor Judge Mohammad Makawi, district commissioners, election officials, and representatives of security agencies.

Minister Hajjar reviewed the ongoing preparations for the upcoming municipal and mukhtar elections, inspecting ballot boxes and emphasizing the importance of their secure delivery. He called for the full coordination of logistical efforts to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process.

The Minister then visited the Disaster Management Room in Baabda District, where he was briefed on logistical readiness and previously addressed challenges. During a subsequent meeting at the Mount Lebanon Operations Room, he chaired a Security Council session to finalize election-day procedures.

Hajjar praised the coordinated efforts of local authorities and security agencies, expressing confidence in their ability to ensure peaceful and credible elections on Sunday, May 4.
