Hezbollah: Our fighters are in a state of mobilization depending on the developments in Syria!
Will Naim Qassem announce the opening of a support front for "Assad"?
Syrian opposition forces capture Hama and Aleppo. If Homs falls too, it will be the key to heading towards the Syrian capital Damascus.
Hezbollah's intervention in the Syrian war has caused great confusion in Lebanon, where many Shiites support the Syrian government while many Sunnis support the armed opposition.
At a time when Hezbollah sees itself victorious in its recent war with Israel, will it participate in the war to avert the threat of any attack if the syrian factions break into the Lebanese border?
In this context, one of Hezbollah's leaders described the ongoing battle in Syria as a decisive and historic battle, noting via the "Akhbar al-Yawm" agency that "the danger threatens all Lebanese, if the Takfiris manage to control the border areas, they will turn Lebanon into part of their Islamic State".
Despite the martyrdom of the party's leaders and the significant deterioration of its military capabilities, it still retains its arsenal and a cadre of several thousand fighters, according to the same commander, who said: "We were able to mobilize the Mujahideen quickly on the border with Syria depending on the developments of the battle there, there is planning and readiness, but it is a matter of time".
The secretary-general of the party, Sheikh Naim Qassem, announced yesterday that he was standing by his ally, President Bashar al-Assad, without announcing the opening of a new support front.
