Will Berri lead Lebanon's Shiites and confine weapons to Lebanese Army?

The president of the council is keen on the Constitution

With the phrase "Return to your land, for it glorifies by your return even if your houses have turned into rubble,", Speaker of the House of Representatives Nabih Berri announced a ceasefire. The displaced people responded to the call even before the Lebanese army deployed in implementation of Resolution 1701.

Observers agree that President Berri has played a major role recently, after he made a great effort in the negotiations to secure an end to the war between Hezbollah and Israel, based on his experience in negotiating.

After this success, will the head of the Amal Movement be the first man in the Shiite community after the martyrdom of the secretary general of the party, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, at the political and popular levels?

Other sources consider, via the "Akhbar al-Yawm" agency, that "President Berri can move Lebanon to a new stage and put an end to the devastating wars led by the armed Party, which was unique in the decisions of war and peace, by declaring to his ally that the logic of wars has not produced anything, and the time has come to confine weapons in the hands of the Lebanese army within a defense strategy agreed upon after the election of a president of the Republic, as a constitutional principle, as Berri is keen on the Constitution par excellence.

Berri has scheduled a new session to elect a head of state for Jan. 9, 2025. It is clear that there is a tendency to elect a president in the near future, which would defuse the conflict again.
