The army commander, General Joseph Aoun, received in his office in Yarzeh the special envoy of French President Emmanuel Macron, former minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, in the presence of the French ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro, and they discussed the general situation in Lebanon and the latest developments in the south.

Le Drian praised "the performance of the army in the face of the challenges it faces", stressing "the absolute and continuous support of his country to the military institution".

On the other hand, General Aoun thanked the French state for its constant interest in the army and for sending it continuous assistance, the latest of which was medical aid.
