Opposition source: the region is in the midst of a war because of the Axis of Resistance

Lebanon is witnessing a political and diplomatic movement to prevent the spread of the war in Gaza and involvement in a confrontation, especially since Hezbollah's involvement in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas is controversial, especially after Hezbollah deputy chief Sheikh Naim Qassem said that "Hezbollah knows its duties perfectly and we are maintaining full readiness and when the time comes for any action we will do it. An outreach by "major countries, Arab countries, and envoys from the United Nations, directly and indirectly, asking us not to interfere in the battle, will not affect us".

An opposition political source pointed out that what Lebanon endured in 2006, cannot be borne today, at that time there was a president of the Republic, a prime minister and an existing government, knowing that the prime minister at that time (Fouad Siniora) was the one who led the negotiation and security protection of Lebanon and accomplished Resolution No. 1701, which led to a complete cessation of hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel.

However, the source continued: at the same time, neither the government, nor the political authorities that existed in Lebanon, nor the constitutional situation could prevent the war, the evidence is that Siniora at the last session of the dialogue table, which was held in 2006 before the July war, called on the interlocutors to prevent any kind of confrontation in the summer for the sake of tourism, the introduction of money and stability.. But the war took place, because the decision of the war is Iranian and Hezbollah is the executor!

While regretting that the state, through all its institutions, cannot prevent the war, the same source stressed that requesting to avoid it is necessary, however Lebanon is controlled and it is a kidnapped country, and therefore if Iran takes the decision, Lebanon will be involved in the war.

Regarding the side that should negotiate on behalf of Lebanon, the source replied: the government is not qualified to lead any negotiation, and this also applies to President Nabih Berri, as he is a part of the axis of resistance and he is responsible for not electing a president of the Republic and a strategic ally of Hezbollah and a believer in the so-called Resistance Project and therefore he cannot also be a negotiator.

He added: If it is necessary to negotiate, then in light of the current situation, it should be President Najib Mikati who stands at the same distance from all political forces, especially since the task of negotiating in general is the responsibility of the executive authority and not the legislative authority.
