Diplomatic source: the need for the dismantling of political minefields and economic support

Developments at the regional level have been accelerating since March 10, the date of the announcement of the Beijing agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia... Yesterday, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz invites Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi to visit Riyadh, and Iraq and Iran signed, on Sunday, a "security protocol" aimed at "coordination in protecting the common border" between the two countries, according to a statement by the Iraqi prime minister, during a visit by the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani to Baghdad.

On the other hand, the president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, received Syrian President Bashar al-Assad yesterday, where they discussed enhancing cooperation and coordination in issues that serve stability and development in Syria and the region, and bin Zayed considered that "Syria's absence from its brothers has been long and it is time to return to its Arab surroundings".

At this time, Lebanon is mired in its crises, knowing that part of those crises is inseparable from the "sanctions" that were imposed on it in one way or another as a result of a group of Lebanese joining the "axis of resistance", which is based mainly on Damascus and Tehran.

In front of this reality, a diplomatic source, via "Akhbar al-Yawm" agency, believes that Lebanon cannot be affected by regional conflicts at the same time and not benefit from regional understandings, hence the understanding that took place between the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran will have positive repercussions on Lebanon, even if it takes a specific period of time to confirm the application of this understanding, and it becomes clear what the international reactions will be.

The source says: if this understanding is proved, there is no doubt that the Lebanese arena will be positively affected and will follow its path, firstly in terms of electing a president of the Republic, and secondly a president and an authority with a clear mission to manage a regional consensus inside Lebanon, and therefore the future president will reflect the climate of this understanding with his personality, behavior and political approach".

The source points out that Lebanon will need two things from this understanding: First, a political climate that allows the dismantling of internal mines, and the second, economic support that allows the launch of the project to rebuild the collapsed state. These two elements can lead to the reconstruction of the state with transparency and integrity.

In this context, the source states that historically and traditionally, the internal Lebanese situation is influenced by the regional and international trend because Lebanon, with its structure and location, is a very sensitive country to these variables, so we cannot accept that Lebanon pays the price of conflicts without recognizing that it benefits from understandings as well.

The source concludes: I do not think that the ceiling of deep internal conflicts still exists, but rather that each team has to make its calculations on the basis that there is a ceiling of its differences with the presence of an international and regional Will to reconstitute the authority and the state...
