Israel’s Military Chief: Hezbollah threat will be dismantled
To protect the northern communities and the State of Israel
Israel’s top military officer vowed to maintain pressure on Hezbollah in Lebanon, saying the Israeli army will continue its operations to remove threats and safeguard the country’s northern communities.
Speaking during a visit to the Israeli army’s Northern Command headquarters in the city of Safed, military Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said efforts to degrade the Lebanese militant group will persist.
“We will continue to act, remove threats and weaken Hezbollah to protect the northern communities and the State of Israel,” Zamir said, according to remarks published by the Israeli army.
The army chief praised the Northern Command for what he described as a strategic shift in Israel’s security posture along the border with Lebanon.
“The Northern Command changed the security reality in the area and strengthened the security on the border,” he added.
