Legal Victory for Riad Salameh in France...Court of Cassation Cancels Decisions to Seize his Properties

 After Judicial Manipulation Findings

Exclusive information to "Akhbar Al-Yawm" Agency reveals that, in an unprecedented judicial development, the French Court of Cassation issued an irremediable ruling to annul the decisions to seize the assets of the former Governor of Lebanon's Central Bank, Riad Salameh. This comes after years of persistent efforts by the former public prosecutor in Paris, Aude Burési, who imposed her legal approach while violating French laws.

According to the details, the French Court of Cassation ruled that the file, which led to the French judiciary placing seizures on Salameh’s assets in France, Belgium, and the United Kingdom, contained significant flaws. As a result, the court ordered the annulment of the seizure decisions and the return of the case to the Court of First Instance for further examination. The Court of Cassation emphasized that the French judiciary does not have jurisdiction to impose seizures outside of France due to territorial limitations. This means that the previous seizures on Salameh’s assets in Belgium and the UK were deemed illegal from the outset and cannot be reinstated. Therefore, the Court of Cassation prohibited any future seizures of Salameh’s assets outside of France, and instructed that the possibility of imposing seizures on his assets within France be reconsidered only after the file is fully completed. It was also established that judicial manipulation had previously obstructed Salameh’s ability to defend himself.

It is worth noting that Burési employed the same reasoning when imposing measures on Lebanese citizens within Lebanon. For example, she had prevented former Minister Marwan Kheireddine from accessing his office in Beirut, threatening him with legal actions. This sparked outrage among Lebanese judges at the time, as it violated Lebanese judicial sovereignty and territorial jurisdiction.

In another development, the counterclaim filed by Salameh in the Lyon Court, France, continues, despite Burési’s efforts to halt it. This case includes detailed information about individuals who allegedly fabricated files against Salameh in France. Furthermore, Salameh won a lawsuit he filed in Germany, which resulted in the cancellation of the German arrest warrant and the withdrawal of the Interpol notice that had been issued based on it.
