On Tuesday, Lebanon's Prime Minister Najib Mikati received an invitation from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz to participate in the joint Arab-Islamic summit, scheduled to be held on November 11 in Riyadh.
The invitation was delivered by Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Waleed Bukhari.
The invitation included, "In light of the worsening crisis faced by our brothers in the State of Palestine, the expansion of the conflict to include the Lebanese Republic, and the repercussions of the crisis extending to regional countries, and based on the shared desire between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and several brotherly Arab and Islamic countries to take a firm stance against the heinous crimes against the Palestinian people and the ongoing Israeli violations of Islamic sanctities in the State of Palestine, as well as the blatant assaults on Lebanese territory, the Kingdom intends to host an extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic follow-up summit in the city of Riyadh.''
It continued, ''We are pleased to invite your country to participate in this summit, affirming Arab and Islamic solidarity to halt Israeli aggression and push towards finding a just solution to the Palestinian issue that guarantees the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. We are confident that your country's participation will significantly impact the summit's success and achieving the desired outcomes."
