Candles were lit yesterday on the balconies of the houses of Ehden and Zgharta Al-Zawiyah, in response to the invitation of Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Rahi, and the church bells rang with joy at the announcement of the beatification of Patriarch Doueihy today in Bkerke.
On the occasion, a march was organized from St. Peter's Church to the statue of Patriarch Doueihy, where candles were lit and prayers and hymns sung.
Candles were lit on the steps and around the monastery of Saint Simon Ito.
