Strengthening the army to confront the Israeli aggression

Whatever the results of the ongoing negotiations of US President Joe Biden's initiative for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which turned into a UN resolution issued by the UN Security Council, Lebanon must prepare to deal with the repercussions of the results, which may translate into more pressure, and the most dangerous of which is the economic pressure.

From this point of view, a spiritual source said, via the "Akhbar al-Yawm" agency that "Lebanon has a precious weapon: diversity and coexistence together, which means that our Lebanese society is a society of peace, and Greater Lebanon is the Lebanon of peace".

The source warns of "a sin committed by many, which is to consider that the decision of peace and war is in Lebanon's hands, while the obvious fact is that the decision of peace and war since the Forties of the last century is in the hands of Israel, which fought successive wars, occupied Arab lands, and invaded Lebanon by land for two times, in addition to many air and sea invasions. Israel is based on the concept of war being a war society and not a peace society".

The source continued: "What is needed is to strengthen the Lebanese army, so that it can confront and withstand the Israeli aggression, especially since the army has the experience and human capabilities that make it able to protect Lebanon if it has the necessary weapons and logistical capabilities".

The source considers that "until reaching the stage of supporting the army with the necessary capabilities to confront and counter threats of all kinds, especially the Israeli aggression, the real approach to confrontation with the enemy should be based on two main pillars:

First: in light of the war, there are two weapons in Lebanon, namely the army and the resistance.

Second: postponing any discussion regarding the war and the opening of the front on the 8th of last October, it is natural to put Hezbollah's behavior on the category of criticism, analysis and measurement".

The source affirms that "the solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict is a comprehensive and just peace based on giving the Palestinian people the right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state, and without that, the specter of war will remain and we will continue to live in a truce between wars".
