Despite the continuation of the war and its escalation, and the talk of regional leaders about six more months of destruction and blood, hopes are still pinned on the possibility of reaching a "settlement deal" leading to a ceasefire in Gaza, including on the southern front.

According to a diplomatic source in Beirut, "the concerned parties with the course of the war in Gaza and on the Lebanon front are still in a position of hardening, Israel is governed by the extreme right, which holds the the decision, and succeeded in promoting the idea to the Israeli public that the war being fought is an existential war, but there is a disagreement in the approach between the political and military levels, at the same time, Benjamin Netanyahu does not mind in prolonging the war".

The source says that "one of the parties controlling the course of the war is also the United States of America, which intersects with Israel on a primary goal, which is the destruction of the Palestinian resistance factions, headed by Hamas, but the disagreement is on a secondary point, which is the insistence of the Netanyahu government to stay in Gaza militarily, while Washington advises to get out of it and form an administration capable of performing the required tasks, as for the Palestinian factor, which is considered the main influencer in the course of the war, has no choice but to withstand and confront, especially since the arena of confrontation is no longer limited to the resistance factions, but to the entire Palestinian people".

Regarding the lebanese front, the ongoing war has shown that the clashes will not stop until the war on the Gaza Strip stops, but the Israeli is trying to achieve a goal, which is the loss of Hezbollah. Here, a well-informed Lebanese source points out that the Lebanese response is unified: Either to implement Resolution 1701 in all its stages, or the international community must bear its responsibilities in obliging Israel to do so, while Hezbollah's withdrawal to 8 kilometers must be matched by a similar withdrawal of the Israeli army. Hochstein sought to contain tension by winning concessions from Lebanon that he puts in Israel's interest in exchange for de-escalation".

The source warns of the danger that the American - Iranian understanding will not be able to prevent the expansion of the war on the Lebanon front, but even more so, Tehran has informed the West that any targeting of Hezbollah is targeting an entire axis, and will open things to all possibilities, most notably the entry of all fronts in the confrontation and effectively".

In front of this reality, talking about the political crisis in Lebanon, especially the presidential vacuum, becomes out of the list, and until further notice.
