| Thursday 20 June 2024

Hours after the secretary general of "Hezbollah" Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah issued threats to the state of Cyprus that it could be attacked if it allowed Israel to use its airport to bomb Lebanon, in any All-Out War, news broke that the Cypriot Embassy closed its doors in Beirut, and its staff stopped working.

This news was denied by sources to An-Nahar, stressing that "the Cypriot embassy has not closed its doors in Beirut, but the visa system has been suspended, starting today, while it is not yet clear whether this will continue".

"Anyone who has a completed transaction at the embassy can receive it or certify it", An-Nahar's information pointed out.

Also, the information confirmed that "the embassy staff is still working inside normally".

"The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus wishes to inform that the Consulate will not be receiving any visa applications or legalization on 20 June 2024. Passports and legalizations may be collected by showing the receipt issued by the Consulate upon the application for a visa".
