Serious talk after the war ends, not before it

In recent weeks, France has been dealing with the Lebanese file in a different way from the previous one and closer to realism, especially as it is still trying to take advantage of previous mistakes, and is straining to invest all the circumstances and reasons in the interest of the success of the mission of its foreign minister Stéphane Séjourné, who is expected to land in Beirut next Saturday.

But at the same time, the task of the most prominent French guest is to prevent the expansion of the escalation zone between Hezbollah and Israel and thus spare Lebanon a full-scale war.

According to a senior party official in the Axis team, via the "Akhbar al-Yawm" agency, France is carrying out efforts related to the implementation of Resolution 1701 to reduce tension from southern Lebanon, but it does not have sufficient capacity to achieve this, because it does not have the resolution alone, in addition, it takes into account the Israeli interest at the expense of Lebanese sovereignty, so the party will not fall into this trap, nor will it accept any French proposal carried by its foreign minister, because serious talk comes after the cessation of the war in Gaza, not before it.

According to the same official, Séjourné's visit is useless at the moment, as he is trying to put pressure on Lebanon to resolve the conflict crisis with Israel, not out of love for the Lebanese, but out of concern for the Zionist entity, at a time when the French are in a hurry to seek solutions without practical ones, and stresses that no border settlement will pass unless it mimics the Lebanese interest, in addition to compliance with Resolution 1701 from the Lebanese perspective, not the Israeli one.
