The general directorate of the Internal Security Forces announced in a statement that "information has reached the intelligence branch about odors emanating from a citizen's house in Mieh w Mieh in Saida. A branch patrol was immediately tasked with getting to the house. As a result of the inspection of the origin of the odors, parts of a body were found in a black bag, in a hole in the garden of the house".

"The specialized agents have begun their procedures to identify the victim and elucidate the circumstances of the murder. They discovered that the body belonged to an American woman born in 1964, that her children residing in the United States had previously reported her as missing, and that an investigation had been carried out at that time. Her husband, a Lebanese born in 1963, was summoned and indicated that his wife had left home for an unknown destination".

The text added that after listening to the testimonies of the victim's neighbors, there were reports of disputes between the man and his wife, which raised suspicions about his involvement in the murder. On April 16, a patrol raided his home and arrested him, and found a war pistol with a magazine and 9 usable bullets. The other body parts were also extracted from two holes in the same garden. As a result of the medical examiner's examination, it turned out that the victim was hit by two bullets in the head.

"During the interrogation of the suspect, he confessed that a dispute had arisen between him and his wife on February 10 last year, during which he shot her with the pistol, which was found in the house, and hit her twice in the head. He left the body in the house for two days, then took a worker away, making him believe that he intended to plant trees in the garden, and asked him to make 3 holes. He then bought an electric saw, cut the body into pieces, put them in garbage bags and buried them in the holes, and made his children believe that his wife had left home for an unknown destination, then blocked them on her phone to make them believe that she did not want to communicate with them. Then he threw the saw in a dumpster and cleaned the house to erase the traces of his crime".

The statement concluded that "the necessary legal actions have been taken against the culprit, and the seized objects have been handed over to the competent authority by order of justice".
