In an intervention on the radio "France International RFI", deputy Sami Gemayel, leader of the Lebanese Kataeb party, said that "getting Lebanon out of its current situation requires sustained international efforts, because the power of Hezbollah comes from Iran and the financing it provides, which confirms that the problem in Lebanon is not local and requires international solutions".
He stressed "the need for the international community to exert the necessary pressures to implement international resolutions, in particular resolution 1559 which calls for the disarmament of militias and resolution 1701".
