Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi said after the Central Security Council meeting: "We discussed the measures taken on the occasion of the holidays and reviewed the measures that the security forces began to implement".

"We requested the security services to help and be on the ground to ensure the security of citizens during the holidays; we stressed the need to accompany the work on the ground with intelligence work to avoid any incidents", he added.

Mawlawi continued: "There are currently no signs of security threats, but it is crucial for security measures to remain proactive".

"We discussed the issue of disruptions at the airport and tasked the airport security service with preparing a detailed report on the current situation and potential solutions; we prioritize the safety of civil aviation", he concluded.
