The outgoing Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, will patronize the 7th edition of the "Beirut International Women Film Festival", organized by the Beirut Film Society, on the theme: "Women for Leadership", from April 14 to 19, 2024.

A statement says: "The festival's activities start on April 14, during an opening ceremony organized at the Casino du Liban, where the Egyptian actress and great Arab artist Yousra will be the guest of honor, as part of the tribute to artistic achievements and in recognition of her long career in the world of cinema and art.

"The Festival's activities will continue from April 15 to 19, more than 73 films will be screened, among a variety of short and feature films, stories, documentaries, animated and experimental films, from 35 different countries, in the Big Cinema halls at ABC Dbayeh, it also includes seminars and dialogue sessions", according to the statement.

The festival will end on April 19 with an award ceremony that will be chosen by the members of the jury, which includes 18 members of filmmakers, actors and great artists, divided into special commissions for each category of films screened.

This event attracts an elite group of cinema and art, to celebrate the excellence and creativity of women in the world of cinema. It plays a central role in strengthening the role of women in the field of cinema, honoring their distinguished contributions and highlighting the leadership role of women in society.
