There is no political intention to find solutions

The Syrian displacement file has been open since 2011 and its conclusion: the numbers are rising, but there are no solutions at a time when Lebanon is no longer able to bear more burdens.

Faced with this reality, prime minister Najib Mikati tried to hold a session of the Council of ministers, but the Quorum of the session was not completed.

It is no longer a secret to anyone that there is no political intention to address the file, especially in light of the international complicity to keep them in Lebanon.

A source participating in the meeting held yesterday in the Grand Serail, reveals via the "Akhbar al-Yawm" agency that all those present supported what the army commander, General Joseph Aoun, put forward that the Syrian displacement poses an existential threat.

As for the figures, the source explained that the Army deploys about 4,800 soldiers on the Lebanese-Syrian border, while its control needs about 30 thousand.

In the same context, he pointed out that during the month of August, the army returned more than 8 thousand displaced people, and the number since the beginning of the year until September 6 reached 23,795 displaced. As for the crimes committed by Syrians in Lebanon are simply insane, as 5,682 Syrians have been arrested by the army since the beginning of the year, and the crimes committed are bribery, robbery, murder, gambling, Drug use, promotion of contraband, arms trade, death threats...

In response to a question, the source pointed out that the ministers praised the role of the army, but the issue is not military, but primarily political, and there is no intention to make any decisive decision.

He concluded by pointing out the importance of cooperation of all citizens and all municipalities to reduce displacement.
