Source: the Kingdom believes that this criminal act will not affect bilateral relations

The repercussions of the kidnapping of Saudi citizen Mashari Al-Mutairi on Sunday evening and his release on Tuesday morning will not end, especially since the reasons for the kidnapping have not been officially announced, as there are question marks about the kidnapper and the location of the kidnapping.

A political source, via the "Akhbar Al-Yawm" agency, praised the efforts of the lebanese army in the quick release of the kidnapped, based on the performance of the Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, especially in the last two years.

The source pointed out that the kidnapping incident worried many, but on the other hand, the quick intervention of the army and the success in freeing the kidnapped, bolstered Aoun's name as a strong contender for the presidency, after some have recently tried to keep him away.

In parallel, the source described the visit of the minister of Interior and municipalities Bassam Mawlawi to the headquarters of the Saudi Embassy in Yarzeh, and holding a joint press conference with Ambassador Walid al-Bukhari, as "remarkable", explaining that the aim of this movement is to re-establish the situation, and all efforts have been put to release the kidnapped.

Pointing out that it is rare for the embassy to open its doors to a large number of media professionals, which indicates the importance of the event and its close follow-up, he concluded: the Kingdom believes that this criminal act has not and will not affect bilateral relations.
