There is talk of a presidential settlement soon, ending the presidential vacuum that has been going on for seven months, and it is likely that the results will be settled after the upcoming Arab Summit, which will be held in a few days.

The International and regional movement will inevitably push for the election of a president as soon as possible, and what President Nabih Berri talked about, regarding the election of a president before June 15, comes from this atmosphere.

Some are betting on the big role of Qatar in resolving the presidential file before next July, where the "biggest focus" is on putting forward the name of Army Commander Joseph Aoun for the presidency of the Republic.

In this context, according to diplomatic informations, the army commander enjoys external and internal support, and Qatar is determined to promote him as a figure capable of filling the vacuum, based on the approval of the group of five countries, which includes Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, France and the United States.

But Aoun's candidacy may run into internal obstacles. Here, informed circles do not exclude the existence of an attempt to involve the military institution in internal files, including the issue of Syrian refugees, in order to undermine the name of the army commander and remove him from the presidential race.
