Finally, after 3 years of anxiety, Corona seems to have given up, turning into an ordinary flu-like virus.

The World Health Organization has announced that the risk of covid-19 may decrease this year to the point where it becomes similar to the risk of seasonal flu.

"I think we are starting to get to a stage where we look at covid-19 the same way we look at seasonal flu, as a health risk and a virus that will continue to take lives, but also as a virus that does not disrupt our society," said MSF emergency director Michael Ryan during a press conference on Friday, adding, "I think that this will happen this year".

He also stressed that the world is currently in a better place than ever before during the pandemic. "I am confident that this year we will be able to say that covid-19 is over as a public health emergency of international concern,"he said.

The World Health Organization declared a public health emergency on January 30, 2020, when less than 100 cases of the virus and zero deaths were recorded outside of China.
