Will Berri call for a session to elect him?

Eleven sessions failed to elect a president of the Republic.

Although the parliamentary sit-in has imposed its rhythm on the parliament and on the Speaker Nabih Berri, considering that the protesting deputies are exerting some kind of pressure on him, the speaker will not submit to such matters, as the "Akhbar Al-Yawm" agency has learned in this regard, that Berri is still waiting for consensus and will not call for any new election session.

In this context, the political corridors have witnessed, in the past hours, confirmation that the current votes are not enough to put former minister Sleiman Frangieh on the track leading to Baabda, and most importantly, not to secure the votes from the two largest Christian blocs, unless developments are recorded in the coming months.

It also seems that consensus is unlikely at all at the current stage, because so far no name is able to secure a quorum of two-thirds, including Frangieh, even if the statements of the National moderation bloc and some independent Sunni MPs decided to vote for him, but the PSP leader Walid Jumblatt, will secure the 65 votes, but according to the atmosphere of "Clemenceau" it is absolutely out of the question.

While it is assumed, according to a constitutional expert, to "Akhbar Al-Yawm", that 86 deputies must be present inside the parliament hall when the first session is held, in which Frangieh will not naturally receive the 86 votes, but in the second session, he can win a normal majority, that is, with the vote of the 65 deputies.
