The World Health Organization has decided to maintain its maximum alert level on the Covid-19 pandemic, three years to the day after declaring the disease as a public health emergency of international concern. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus followed the recommendations of the Emergency Committee on Covid-19, experts who were meeting for the 14th time on Friday, according to a statement. Doctor Tedros had already made it known that he considered it premature to lift the highest alert level.
