Diplomatic information says that during the discussion with his American counterpart Joe Biden, on the Lebanese situation, the two presidents discussed the name of General Aoun, and demanded the need for a presidential election.
In the meantime, internal and external forces are waiting for two main stations directly related to the army commander, to announce his candidacy and thus agree on him to be elected president of the Republic, especially since his name as a candidate has been circulating in French, American and Qatari circles, and there are also those who claim that General Aoun is the candidate of the French and in particular the candidate of President Macron.
On the other hand, France has the keys to solving the crises in Lebanon. It also has its own groups in Lebanon, being on good terms with all political parties, enjoys a declared relationship with Iran, and is also comfortable with Hezbollah, which in turn considers Paris to be an acceptable party, to play a role that may not be enjoyed by other Western capitals.
Political sources told "Akhbar Al-Yawm" agency that the Hezbollah has left the options open, and will have a discussion with France, which represents the point of view of the West in coordination with Tehran, as the sources stressed, that the party receives external information and conversations, that the settlement is "not based" on the name of former minister Sleiman Frangieh, in addition, it is not required a president who has the largest number of Deputies, but who is required to extend bridges of communication with everyone, build a good foreign policy and keep up with regional developments, and as long as the specifications are known, perhaps when the settlement matures, General Aoun will be a solution candidate for all.
