It takes over its functions after the trust in the last two weeks of the Tenure

Sources familiar with the Contacts between Baabda and Serail  revealed via the "Akhbar al-Yawm" agency that the government will see the light next week according to what President Najib Mikati said during his last visit to Baabda, considering the constant warnings to President Michel Aoun about not handing over a government that lacks legitimacy, in addition to Hezbollah's pressure on Mikati.

Pointing out that contacts are continuing even though Mikati is out of the country, the sources summarized what has become agreed by saying: the appointment of a new minister for the displaced instead of Minister Issam Sharafeddine, provided that he is not a provocative figure for the head of the Progressive Socialist Party, former MP Walid Jumblatt, and that he is named by the president of the Republic.

While it became known that former MP Yassin Jaber will replace the current Finance Minister Youssef al-Khalil, at the request of President Nabih Berri, sources said that a lengthy meeting was held between Mikati and Economy Minister Amin Salam, four days ago, and concluded with positive results, as it seems that Mikati is no longer committed to replacing him. They added: But if the choice is towards replacing Salam, Mikati will name him in exchange for giving the president of the Republic the nomination of a replacement for the Deputy Prime Minister, Saadeh al-Shami, considering that the Nationalist Party is no longer represented in the parliament.

Why the pressure towards the "formation" has been delayed? The sources replied: No team wants to waste any more time, saying: it seems that the government will be formed in the middle of next week, and it needs about 15 days to prepare the Ministerial Declaration and gain the confidence of the House of Representatives. Thus, we will have started the last two weeks of the Mandate, then an effective government will be able to exercise the functions of President of the Republic in the event of a vacuum.

In response to a question, the sources denied to raise again the issue of adding six ministers, which Mikati absolutely rejected, in order to avoid creating a blocking third that paralyzes the government at any moment.
