The Army Command - Orientation Directorate issued the following statement:

On August 12, 2022, the Army Command received the first batch of the Qatari financial gift presented by the Emir of the sisterly State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to the Lebanese Army as a contribution to support the salaries of the army’s members, and today it began to be distributed equally among all military personnel.

The Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun thanked the State of Qatar and its Emir for this valuable initiative towards the Lebanese Army, noting its commitment to Lebanon and its army in light of the challenges it faces as a result of the repercussions of the deteriorating economic situation.
