Caretaker Economy and Trade Minister, Amin Salam, on Friday announced at the launch of the National Council for Pricing Policy that "the unions confirmed that the prices of commodities are rising in parallel with the exchange rate of the US dollar, and they were not priced at the exchange rate of LBP 40,000 per dollar in any of the stores."

He also cautioned, “We are heading towards collapse and everyone should bear his responsibilities.”

Salam also announced that he will call for an emergency meeting by the National Council for Pricing Policy, because we are in an emergency situation and things can’t continue in this manner.
