As Akhbar al Yawm mentioned two days ago next Tuesday "the doors of parliament at Place de l'Etoile will open again..." Senior MP Nabih Berri appointed a session to elect the speaker of parliament and his deputy and the bureau on Tuesday afternoon.

This means that the new parliament will take over and begin its work, and the consultations on the president and his deputy also seem to have matured!

It was the first time that Berri's candidacy was announced by his parliamentary bloc, unlike the previous six times.

At this point, the question of how many votes Berri will receive remains to be seen, particularly under the charter Berri has always adhered to in the event that influential Christian blocs and figures abstain from voting for him.

A source close to the bloc says that the situation is not described in this way, but the Constitution must be respected, especially since we are in an exceptional situation and each party must  contribute to the restoration of powers.

The source said to Akhbar Al Yawm agency that we are on the lookout for new changes and developments in the composition of parliament, where all forces were convinced of the results produced by the ballot boxes, and that it is therefore necessary to have recourse to the Constitution and to the mechanism of the rules of procedure of the parliament, which in turn is reflected in the ballot boxes during the elections of the president and his deputy and the formation of the bureau and the commissions.

The source emphasizes the need to overcome the immediate differences, as the circumstances compel us to urgently initiate the mandate of the parliament in order to pave the way for the reconstitution of the authorities in an abnormal circumstance which is not likely to be postponed.

In response to a question, the source believes that what is needed today is to deal with the crises that the Lebanese are experiencing regardless of the details which, if we were under normal circumstances, would not be on the table, or would have differed in approach.

The source considers that contacts must be established between the different forces and blocs in order to entrust the Prime Minister.
