Saudi Arabia is preparing to buy the broadcasting rights of the Italian Super Cup, but is demanding a change in the format of the competition in order to benefit from it better.

And according to the “getfootballnewsitaly” website, Saudi Arabia is ready to renew its relationship with Italian football, by purchasing the rights to broadcast the Italian Super Cup.

The site added that the Kingdom is preparing to invest 200 million euros in Italian football, in a 6-year deal, stressing that this is much higher than the deal, which amounted to 21 million euros in the past three seasons.

And she continued: “There are Saudi demands to change the format of the tournament, so that 4 clubs compete for it instead of two teams, and thus more than one match will be held, similar to the Spanish Super Championship.”

The site concluded, that the Saudi administration wants the Italian Cup and League runners-up to participate in the tournament, and the competition to start from the semi-final round of the competition.
