Omar Al-Rassi - "Akhbar Al-Yawm"

What follows the recusal of Prime Minister Saad Hariri, announced yesterday as a fireball thrown at others, without naming an alternative or agreeing with those concerned on any name?

A knowledgeable source said that the presidential duo Michel Aoun and Hezbollah will rush to set a date for binding parliamentary consultations to appoint the prime minister designate, in order to send a message to Hariri saying: "Your recusal is not the end of the world, and an alternative can be found, even the fast formation of a government ”, in an attempt to confirm that the main problem lays in the Center House.

The source revealed, via "Akhbar Al-Yawm" news agency, that the name which is repeated more than others behind the scenes of the parliamentary majority is that of the deputy Faisal Karami, and the parties promoting it are based on the fact that Karami enjoys a sort of legitimacy from the Sunni family (from his father to his uncle who held the post of "prime minister" and who had a role in Lebanese politics), even though he lacked the popular Sunni legitimacy. But of course, Karami does not represent the Sunni sect, as he is an ally of the Shiite duo, and he represents them more than he represents the Sunni group, noting that he was a minister on Hezbollah's list during the second government of Prime Minister Najib Mikati (June 13, 2011 - February 15, 2014). Today, even though he has family legitimacy, it is difficult for him to replace Hariri's absence and affect the current Sunni situation.

The source stressed that the parliamentary majority will not stop trying to form a government, and it will be a government of politicians based on the proposal of Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who advised Hariri during his appearance on the television in March, to form a government of political forces capable of assuming the burdens and responsibilities. He therefore called for "to reconsider the decision of forming a government of specialists which will not last and will not be able to take responsibility for the crisis, and to move towards a techno-political government".

In response to a question, the source estimated that any government whose the majority is limited to its formation will face resistance from the main Sunni leaders, starting with Mufti Abdul Latif Daryan, former prime ministers, the Future Movement and most of the traditional Sunni figures ... He said: Despite this, Mikati is perhaps the most flexible person to conduct negotiations with, and he may find reasons to return to power, like what happened when he led his first government (April 19, 2005 - July 19, 2005), knowing that any measure of this kind is inseparable from a deep study of electoral reality.

On the other hand, the source pointed out that Hariri did not recuse himself in a correct way, as it is not allowed to give the President of the Republic a deadline of only 24 hours, especially after having changed everything in the formation of the government without any prior agreement.
