The subcommittee emanating from the Public Works Committee, tasked with following up the steps required to protect the southern silos, visited the Port of Beirut, and got acquainted with the progress of work and the steps taken to remove the grains from inside by the concerned ministries.

The delegation included the chairman of the committee, MP Fouad Makhzoumi and MP Ghassan Hasbani, accompanied by Minister of Environment Nasser Yassin and economy Amin Salam, director of the cranes at the port Asaad Haddad and a number of engineers and environmental experts, and asked the attendees to put masks on as a rule and not stay for a long time due to the danger of odors, and not to enter those suffering from respiratory crises and Chest Diseases.
